Kathmandu, Feb. 25: Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyawali, Head of the Press, Information and Culture wing of the Embassy of India in Kathmandu Naveen Kumar and Mayor of Dakshinkali Municipality Mohan Basnet jointly carried out the ground breaking for the reconstruction of Shree Champa Devi Secondary School in Dakshinkali on Wednesday.
The school is being reconstructed at a cost of Rs. 68.5 million and will be made earthquake-resilient, the Indian embassy said in a press statement.
The school, when completed, will have two blocks each having 13 classrooms, practical rooms, administrative rooms, library and separate toilets for boys and girls in each floor.
The Central Building Research Institute of Roorkee will provide technical assistance for the reconstruction, the press statement read.
The embassy is also working with the NRA on 147 health buildings and restoration and retrofitting of 28 cultural heritage sites in 11 districts.
