Humla, Sept. 25: The general public, including the chairman and chief administrative officer of the Kharpunath Rural Municipality, in Humla district, which is connected to the district headquarters Simkot, has to move around the office by using Tuin (wire crossing) across the Karnali River.
As the suspension bridge has not been built for the past three years, people have to cross the river through risky Tuin to reach Yangchu Bazaar.
Chief Administrative Officer of Rural Municipality Bishnu Bahadur Shahi said that they have to cross the bridge through Tuin to go to the office at 10 in the morning and return home in the evening as there is no bridge over the mighty river.
He was transferred to Kharpunath Rural Municipality-4 a month ago. He said he was forced to walk an hour from his house in Majhagaun to his office by crossing the Karnali River through Tuin.
He added that there was no other option even though he was afraid of using the Tuin due to the rising water level in the river. All the people of Ward No. 2, 3 and 4 of the Rural Municipality have to cross the Karnali using the Tuin to reach the municipality office.
