By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Sept. 28: The share market has been declining significantly for the last three consecutive days since Sunday.
The benchmark of the share market index, NEPSE, which declined with the highest points Monday, has further dropped by 70.01 points on Tuesday, the third transaction day of the week.
With the continuous decline, the NEPSE index has fallen to 2,615.40 points today.
The NEPSE index has dropped by 204.33 points in the last three days. The index had declined by 61.27 points on Sunday and 73.05 points on Monday.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies declined by 11.42 points (2.26 per cent) to close at 494.91 points.
However, the turnover has slightly increased on Tuesday as compared to Monday’s transaction.
A total of 13,034,828 shares worth Rs. 5.74 billion of 228 companies were sold in 75,374 transactions today.
Share worth Rs. 6.5 billion had been sold on Sunday while shares worth Rs. 5.12 billion sold in Monday.
The sub-indices of all groups decreased sharply.
Sub-index of life insurance group saw the highest fall of 431.91 points (2.9 per cent) followed by non-life insurance and finance group whose indices decreased by 325.56 points (2.78 per cent) and 175.59 points (7.37 per cent) respectively.
The sub-index of non-life insurance group decreased by 439.28 points, life insurance by 437.17 points and finance by 112.96 points on Monday.
Similarly, development bank group sub-index decreased by 154.41 points, hydropower by 138.45 points, microfinance by 111.99 points and manufacturing and processing by 89.23 points.
Sub-index of banking decreased by 36.03 points, trading by 79.39 points, hotel and tourism by 24.31 points, others by 31.13 points, mutual fund by 0.17 points and investment by 3.53 points.
Share prices of Himalayan Power Partner and Nepal Hydro Developers have posted the highest fall by 10 per cent while Gurkhas Finance by 9.99 per cent and Joshi Hydropower Development Company by 9.88 per cent.
Likewise, share price of Shree Investment Finance has decreased by 9.82 per cent, Shiva Shree Hydropower by 9.12 per cent and Samriddhi Finance Company by 9.09 per cent.
However, the share price of Manakamana Smart Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has increased by 10 per cent, Mailung Khola Jal Vidhyut Company by 9.99 per cent and Mega Bank Nepal by 1.97 per cent.
