Kathmandu, Mar. 12: The government has released Nepal migration report 2020, featuring situation of migration, foreign employment, good governance relating to migrants and areas for reform.
Releasing the report, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Rameshwor Raya Yadav, said the report would help government realize the ambition of 'prosperous Nepal: happy Nepali.' The recommendations furnished by the report are useful to ensure good governance in the migration sector.
The report outlines the efforts Nepal made on national, bilateral, regional and global levels to bring reform in migration. It has prioritized the evidence-based policy making and made analyses of Nepal's labor migration.
At the report release programme on Thursday, Ministry Secretary Binod KC said the report has incorporated the issues on creation of employment. He further mentioned that the report explicitly pointed out the dearth of good governance in labour migration.
