Bhojpur, April 21 : Despite the ongoing lockdown in the wake of COVID-19, development work of different mega projects has been initiated in the district by considering safety aspects of the workers.
The decision was taken after the government approval to run crucial projects by applying security measures.
The District Administration Office said that the labourers involved in such projects are prevented from going out while others from outside are also not permitted to enter into the site.
Chief District Officer Basanta Raj Puri said that needed supports are provided in coordination with concerned local levels in case of any disruption in the projects.
Currently, the construction work has resumed for bridges over Pikhula river, Kawa river, Siktel river and Ari river, the District Administration Office said.
Furthermore, Taksar-Pikhuwakhola hydropower project, Irkhuwakhola hydropower project, Chirkhuwa hydropower project and other projects are also continuing their construction jobs amid the lockdown.
The vehicles being used for the supplies of construction materials are given pass while the workers have maintained social distancing along with their health tests, Puri added.
However, the construction works of Mid Hills Highway is yet to resume for absence of the workers.
