Man found hanging at Bode bus stop

Kathmandu, Jan. 28: A man was found hanging at a bus stop in Bode, Bhaktapur district, on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ganesh Silwal, 54, a permanent resident of Jugal Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district, temporarily residing in Chhapro, Kathmandu-32.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) and chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Tara Devi Thapa, who also reached the incident site on Wednesday morning, the body of the man was found hanging from a shelter built for the passengers to wait for bus on the roadside of Bode.
"The man was found hanging using a belt. All his belongings including money, wallet and other documents are all intact, safe and were not misplaced," SP Thapa said. There was no belt in his waist, police said.
The body was taken to Duwakot-based KMC Hospital in Bhaktpaur for an autopsy. Details regarding the incident would come clear after the postmortem report is made available to the police, she said.
The incident site is just a few metres away from the office of the Armed Police Force (APF), she said.
According to SP Thapa, there was nobody at the incident site till 10:00 pm when APF personnel were patrolling the area. The incident might have occurred late on Tuesday night.
There was no bruise on the body, but there was mud in his body, SP Thapa said.
Family members of the deceased have not yet registered any complaint regarding any suspicion into the case, according to SP Thapa.
Family members have, however, told the police that there was minor family dispute on the day of the incident on Tuesday.
"We have now been analyzing the call details of the deceased and other technical part to trace further clue into the case," SP Thapa said.
Family members have yet to confirm whether the belt used for hanging was of the deceased or of other persons.
