Construction of Kanchanpur-Kamala road takes pace, locals elated

By Jibachha Yadav, Siraha, Mar. 17: Construction of a four lane road linking Kanchanpur and Kamala National Highway has been going on rapidly in Lahan Municipality area.

Speed of the construction work has been accelerated so that five kilometer out of total 87 km long highway could be completed before the monsoon season starts. The five kilometer road section lies in Lahan area.

Locals are elated as the project has got a new momentum with rapid pace of construction.

Kanchanpur-Kamala project work has been executed in the two different packages, said supervisor of the project, Anil Dhungana, adding, if there are no obstructions and if the pace of works continues like this, we will complete the construction of the 87-km long road linking Kanchanpur of Saptari and Kamala of Siraha districts within the stipulated timeframe of three years.

Construction work has been executed in Siraha in two separate packages and has been underway in Rupmani of Saptari also, according to him. Preparations are underway for construction a bridge with 12 meter breadth over the Balan River.

Supervisor Bhandari said that construction of flyovers and road underneath in the Lahan Municipality will start after rainy season. He added that the work will move rapidly after entering the market area.

He said construction works were going on rapidly with some ease as the local levels have been supportive of it and that the project has been coordinating with the local levels for the same.

Muni Shah, mayor of Lahan Municipality, appreciated the way China Railway-2, the construction company involved in the project, has sped up the construction work in the Lahan Area.
