Kathmandu, May 29: The Ministry of Finance has agreed to provide Rs. 1.41 billion for 41 hospitals for the establishment of pediatric intensive care units (ICU) and ICU with ventilators for the treatment of children who are seriously ill because of COVID-19.
The Ministry has ensured Rs. 30 million each for Taplejung Hospital, Sankhuwasabha Hospital, Tehrathum Hospital, Bhojpur Hospital, Khotang Hospital, Solukhumbu Hospital, Okhaldhunga Hospital, Rangeli Hospital, Sunsari Hospital and Sarlahi Hospital to set up the pediatric ICUs.
Similarly, Bara Hospital, Ramechhap Hospital, Dolakha Hospital, Ratnanagar Hospital, Bhaktapur Municipal Hospital, Rasuwa Hospital, Parbat Hospital, Syangja Hospital and Myadi Hospital, Palpa Hospital, Rolpa Hospital, Prithvi Chandra Hospital, Musikot Hospital, Mugu Hospital and Mehalkuna Hospital each will receive the same amount for the pediatric ICUs.
The Ministry has agreed to provide Rs. 60 million for Seti Provincial Hospital and Rs.90 million each for Gajendra Narayan Hospital and Tulsipur Hospital and Rs.120 million for Bhaktapur Hospital.
Likewise, Dhulikhel Hospital, Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Lumbini Provincial Hospital and Bhim Hospital would receive Rs. 18 million each.
Bheri Hospital, Dadeldhura Hospital, Narayani Hospital, Koshi Hospital, Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Janakpur Provincial Hospital and Surkhat Provincial Hospital will get Rs. 12 million.
Similarly, Rs. 30 million has been allocated each for Kanti Children's Hospital, Patan Institute of Health Sciences and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
The Ministry of Finance has decided to allocate Rs. 6 million each for Mechi Hospital and Dhaulagiri Hospital and Rs. 24 million each for Seti Provincial Hospital, Mahakali Hospital and Bharatpur Hospital.
