Kathmandu, Dec 10: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has called for applications from the public schools across the country for the expansion of physical facilities there under President Educational Reform Programme.
Under the programme, all public schools can submit proposals by December 23 through a local level to participate in the programme.

A meeting of the Board of Directors chaired by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel on November 29 decided to publish the information for the current fiscal year 2078/079 under the programme by seeking proposals from the public schools through local governments.
The Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) has asked for the proposal for school physical infrastructure development programme, ICT lab management, smart boards, TV sets and other materials in the schools. Likewise, the schools can also demand budget for digital library management and strengthening the labs, which is applicable for both existing and new technical schools.

Secondary schools without ICT labs and digital library system or those operating with a minimum of 200 students up to basic level can apply for the programme.
According to the recommendations received from the local governments, the centre will select the schools. Then the local governments will categorise the schools on the basis of their priority. According to the procedure, one school can apply only for two programmes.
