Baglung, Oct.12: A fundraising campaign has been launched to produce Buki, a movie to be made on the tourism and religious issues of Baglung district.
Under the coordination of Himalayan Event Management Company, a film based on the tourism, religious and cultural aspects of Baglung is being produced for the first time.
“With the aim of introducing Baglung district to the entire world, we have started a campaign to make a historical film Buki and we will succeed in making the district a popular tourist destination,” said Rajan KC Mohan, film production coordinator.
Campaign secretary Thamman Thapa Sandesh said that the script of the film was ready now and they had started collecting funds for the production of the film.
Thapa said that the film would be produced by launching a fundraising campaign in coordination of various organisations, immigrants people and from the local level.
Preparations for the film started two years ago, but the fundraising campaign was affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said Thapa.
The film is named after the flower called ‘Buki’ which is found in Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, the only hunting reserve in Nepal.
The film will be made in both Nepali and English languages.
The cost of the film is estimated at Rs.14 million.
The film's earnings will be spent on building the physical infrastructure for the development of the tourist destination and its promotion, informed the film production committee, said Thapa.
