Bajhang, Aug. 24: The Federation of Nepali Journalists Bajhang branch has honoured four journalists on the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of late Raja Jay Prithvi Bahadur Singh.
Organising a formal programme at Chainpur, Bajhang on Monday, the FNJ branch awarded four active journalists with cash prize on Monday.
Chairman of the Community Radio Transmission Association Sudurpaschim Province Jagat Khadka was presented the Jaya Prithvi Journalism Award, carrying a purse of Rs. 10,000.
Jaya Prithivi Journalist Award is established in the name of Jaya Prithvi Bahadur Singh.
Similarly, Basanta Pratap Singh, journalist of Kantipur, Bina Rokaya, journalist of Saipal F.M. and Padam Khadka, journalist of Radio Thalara were awarded Naresh Memorial Journalist Award 2078.
Naresh Memorial Journalism Award is established in memory late secretary of FNJ-Bajhang Naresh Khadka who died in a road accident.Radio Saipal FM was also honoured on the occasion.
In a workshop orgnised on the occasion, various speakers highlighted the contribution of humanist Jaya Prithvi Bahadur Singh who had begun the publication of the Gorkhapatra.
