By Pratik Ichchhuk Sharma, Salyan, June 15: Over a hundred ropani of irrigated paddy field has been washed away by the flooded Sharada River and Khahare stream here at Jaychaur in Chhatreshori Rural Municipality-4.
Neb Bahadur Khadka, ward chair of Chhatreshori Rural Municipality-4, informed that along with the paddy field, the flood triggered by incessant rains has also swept away a pigsty firm.
The ward chair said that the paddy belonging to 20 households was flooded. Some of the field was already planted while some was prepared for paddy plantation.
Hari Oli, a local, said that the flooded Khahare stream had done much damage to the paddy field.
Kaman Singh Kunwar, another local, said that the flooded Jhimpe stream had also damaged paddy field near it. He said risk of landslides have grown with the incessant rainfall for the last three days.
