Sindhupalchowk, June 26: The Melamchi and Indrawati rivers, flooded following incessant rain, have washed away a house at Melamchi Municipality-11 today.
The three-storied house belonging to Gopal Dulal was washed away by the swollen rivulets, Area Police Office Melamchi said.
The flooding that occurred on June 15 claimed the lives of five people and damaged physical properties and infrastructures worth millions. Dozens of people are still missing. More than 400 families have been displaced due to the flood.
Police have urged the people in settlements near the rivers and downstream side to be alert as the water level in the rivers continues to surge with the continuous rain. More than 50 houses are at risk of flood in Melamchi.
