Kathmandu, Oct. 16: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel Thursday assumed responsibility at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM).
Pokharel took office after Prime Minister KP Sharma
Oli altered his responsibilities from the Ministry of Defence to the OPMCM.
Before taking office at OPMCM, DPM Pokharel attended a farewell function organised by Ministry of Defence.
Speaking at office assuming function, DPM Pokharel said the practice of handing over the responsibility of only the DPM was first of its kind in Nepal. Such new practice made by the present government would not be inconsequential, he said.
“During my tenure, I will mainly look into the responsibility of Nepal Investment Board, National Planning Commission, Investment Board Nepal, National Investigation Department, and Department of Investigation of Money Laundering,” he said.
