Kathmandu, Aug. 31: Actor Dayahang Rai was appointed brand ambassador of Nepal– European Film Festival. Delegation of the European Union to Nepal appointed actor Rai as its ambassador.
Organisers of the Film Festival have expressed their happiness over the appointment of the popular actor as the brand ambassador of the festival.
Rai will work to promote the art and cultural aspects of EU throughout the festival, it was informed.

The festival will bring European and Nepali films related to environmental challenges and climate change, informed the Delegation of the EU.
Audience can watch Nepali and European films by logging the EU website.

The EU Delegation said that audience would be informed how they could watch the movies of the festival soon through its social networking sites.
Actor Rai has also expressed his happiness over the opportunity.

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, when film related activities have slowed down, such festivals will add energy to the film industry, Rai added.
He said film festival is a cultural exchange and it helps promote film literacy among the people.
The 10th edition of Nepal European Film Festival will begin virtually from 17 to 25 September.

In the festival, winners of the short film competition on gender equality will be organised while interactions and seminars related to films are also planned.
