By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 8: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Tuesday confirmed 1,382 new cases of COVID-19, taking the national tally to 243,377.
“In 8,947 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Tests (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 1,382 persons, 546 females and 836 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection,” informed the MoHP in its daily update.
Currently, there are 12,686 active cases of COVID-19 and 523 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad are stationed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,621 persons either staying in home isolation or receiving treatment in various health facilities recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nepal has spiked to 229,054 and the recovery rate is at 94.1 per cent.
Moreover, 23 people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,637 and the death rate is at 0.67 per cent.
