Kathmandu, Nov. 25: Nepal is witnessing 15 to 25 deaths due to COVID-19 on a daily basis and on Tuesday it reported 24 fatalities.
With 24 new fatalities reported today, official death toll in Nepal has reached 1,361.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the death rate has reached 0.61 per cent.
Of the total fatalities, Kathmandu district alone has reported 331 fatalities and 91 deaths were recorded in Lalitpur and 87 in Bhaktapur.
According to the MoHP, 668 individuals from Bagmati State, 187 from Lumbini State, 183 from State 2; 174 from State 1; 89 from Gandaki State, 37 from Sudurpaschim State and 23 from Karnali State have died of COVID -19 related health conditions.
The MoHP recorded 1,790 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The overall national tally of COVID-19 has reached 224,078 with 17,859 active cases.
Of the total active cases, 393 are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 57 others including 40 in Bagmati State, eight in Gandaki State, seven in State 1 and two in Lumbini are receiving treatment with ventilator support.
According to the MoHP, 2,791 infected people have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 91.4 per cent.
The Kathmandu Valley recorded 947 new infections in the past 24 hours.
Of them, 692 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 190 in Lalitpur and 65 in Bhaktapur. As per the latest update, the number of confirmed cases in the valley has reached 104,682.
Similarly, according to the MoHP, a total of 1,681,299 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 10,843 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the MoHP on Tuesday.
1,078 new cases in Bagmati State
According to the MoHP, in the past 24 hours, 249 new infections were reported in State 1; 37 in State 2, and 1,078 in Bagmati State.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim States reported 148, 189, 13 and 76 cases respectively.
Similarly, five districts, including Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kaski and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases and Manang and Mugu districts do not have any active case.
