Kathmandu, Jan. 4: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has said that weather will remain normal across the country, with the possibility of light snowfall in one or two places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
Partial to moderate cloud cover in Far West and Karnali and partial cloud cover in the rest of the country on Tuesday, the DHM predicted.

The country will get western trough from Wednesday and which can bring precipitation in a few areas of the country and light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous areas of Far West and Karnali and light rain in hilly areas of Far West, Karnali and Gandaki on Wednesday which will remain for one or two days, he said.
“Terai districts are covered with dense fog during morning and day which is causing extreme cold in few parts of Terai but we cannot say that is cold wave yet,” Poudel said.
The lowest temperature was recorded at minus 5 degrees Celsius in Jumla in the last 24 hours.
The DHM also asked people to take necessary precautions to avoid cold as there is a possibility of thick fog in the morning in the Terai districts including the Kathmandu Valley.
Meanwhile, in Banke, the temperature has sharply decreased because of the cold wave. Life in the area has been affected due to the cold and fog.
With the sharp fall in temperature coupled with a cold wave, human movements and activities have also declined at local Tribhuvan Chowk, Sadar Line, Gharbaritol, BP Chowk, Birendra Chowk and Pushpalal Chowk of Nepalgunj.
Rickshaw pullers, cart pushers and labourers have been affected the most by the cold wave. It has also affected children and the elderly.
