Kathmandu, Jan 23 : The courts throughout the country will remain closed today to mourn the demise of former Chief Justice Mohan Prasad Sharma. Supreme Court's full court meeting on Saturday decided to announce a holiday in all courts for Sunday.
The Supreme Court, high courts, special courts and tribunals would remain closed today.
Former CJ Sharma died on last Wednesday at the age of 88. Sharma had forayed into government service in 2015 BS and assumed the post of CJ from 2054 to 2056 BS. He is survived by a son and daughter.
Expressing a deep sorrow over the demise of Sharma, the Supreme Court's full court meeting has extended condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed that may the departed soul rest in peace.
