Kusma, July 16 : A total of 12 children of Chuwa village in Kushma Municipality-8 in Parbat district have been infected with COVID-19.
The current surge in the cases in Chuwa village is considered as a threat for the third wave at a time when the infection rate in the district among the children was decreasing.
Ward Chairman Raj Kumar Chhetri said that children of 13 months to 11 years are infected with COVID-19.
He said that more infectious Delta coronavirus variant is suspected among the children as the cases are rapidly increasing in the village.
According to Chhetri, the Gandaki Province Health Directorate has been requested to confirm whether Delta variant has spread in Chuwa village.
In Chuwa village, there are altogether 42 active cases of coronavirus.
