NOC hikes fuel prices, petrol costs Rs. 145 per litre, diesel Rs. 128  

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has once again increased the price of petroleum products. The NOC has revised the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene citing that price of fuel has increased in the international market significantly. Daily COVID-19 infection rate declines to 6.9%

The COVID-19 infection rate through RT-PCR tests declined to 6.9 per cent on Sunday. The infection rate has declined by 4.5 per cent this week in comparison to last week. Speaking at a media briefing, Dr. Sangita Mishra, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) informed that the average daily infection rate of COVID-19 has been 6.4 per cent, as of Sunday.

New taxi fares remain unimplemented in Bagmati

The Bagmati Province Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport had declared to implement new fares for taxis operating within the province, including the Kathmandu Valley, from January 15. However, it has not been implemented yet while the taxi operators have not accepted it. “Operating a taxi is turning futile,” said Arjun Prasad Gautam, chairman of Nepal Meter Taxi Association.

NEA earns Rs. 12.12 billion profit in six months

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has earned a profit of Rs. 12.12 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2021/22. According to NEA's unrefined financial statement, the profit of NEA has almost doubled in the first six months of the current fiscal year. It was Rs. 6.18 billion in the last fiscal year 2020/21.
