Fuel tanker drivers call off strike following deal on vaccination

Fuel tanker drivers have called off their strike after the government agreed to vaccinate them against COVID-19. After staging the strike for two days on Sunday and Monday, the Nepal Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association (NPTDA) agreed to resume their service after reaching an agreement with the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) that the latter would gradually vaccinate the drivers and co-drivers, said Surendra Kumar Paudel, managing director of the NOC.

NEPSE shows marginal correction

The stock market index NEPSE, which set new records by increasing 81.04 points in two days, showed a marginal correction on Tuesday. The NEPSE index has declined by 3.72 points (0.12 per cent) to close at 3,022.10 points on Tuesday. The NEPSE had increased by 81.04 points on the last two trading days of the week, on Sunday and Monday.
