The state-owned food supplier --Food Management and Trading Company has started utilising modern technologies so that the people could have an easy access to its services. The FMTC has been operating online delivery services in the Kathmandu Valley.

Fuel supply smooth, says NOC

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state owned petroleum supplier, has been supplying petroleum products to the petrol pumps across the country based on their demand. “We are delivering fuel to the fuel stations across the nation on demand. We will deliver fuel to the petrol pumps when they inform the concerned NOC depots for fuel,” said Binitmani Upadhyay, spokesperson of NOC.

Milk collection tumbles 35%

As the sales of milk has plummeted due to the prohibitory order imposed in major cities of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, dairy farmers have become worried. The milk collection has dropped by around 35 per cent across the country due to the prohibitory order as the demand for milk has decreased significantly especially in Kathmandu Valley and other cities, said Dr. Rajendra Prasad Yadav, executive director of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

Economic scenario challenging due to COVID-19: Paudel

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that the economic scenario in the near future is challenging due to the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. ‘The path to inclusive and sustainable economic recovery is hampered by the extensive impact of the COVID-19. Nepal to achieve 4% economic growth

Nepal's economic growth rate is expected to be 3.98 per cent in the current fiscal year 2020/21. According to the latest data prepared on the basis of the data and information relating to the economic sector from the first seven months to the nine months of the current fiscal year, the GDP growth rate at basic prices is estimated to be 3.98 per cent.

India agrees to supply fertilisers in G2G model for five years

Pesticide limit fixed in vegetables, fruits, tea

The government has, for the first time, set a maximum residual limit (MRL) of pesticide in 10 types of vegetables and fruits. DDC ghee growing popular among Japanese consumers

Ghee produced by state-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) is gaining popularity in Japan. DDC brand ghee, which started being exported to Japan from August 2020, has so far reached 33 tonnes, said Rudra Prasad Poudel, general manager of DDC.
