Pashupati area cleaned on the eve of Mahashivaratri  

The 353rd week of the Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign saw the cleaning of the Aryaghat, Suryaghat, Ram Mandir and other areas of the Pashupati temple premises. The sanitation event was held in preparation for the upcoming Mahashivaratri festival.   

Apex court seeks written reasons for not indicting former PMs in Baluwatar land scam

The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) demanding reasons in writing for not filing a charge-sheet against former Prime Ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai in the Lalita Niwas land procurement scam.    

'Daughter education insurance campaign' paying off in Siraha

'Daughter Education Insurance Scheme' under the 'Beti Padhau, Beti Bachau' (educate the daughter, save the daughter) Programme is bearing fruit in Siraha district. The campaign under the 'Beti Padhau, Beti Bachau', which aims to end discrimination between sons and daughters and increase daughters' access to education, has been implemented in all eight districts of State 2.

Mahashivaratri to be celebrated in special manner  

Preparations are on to celebrate Mahashivaratri in a special manner on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year 2020. Different organisations have started cleaning different places in Pashupati area at the request of the Pashupati Area Development Trust for the same.

Chief of State 2 Tilak Pariyar inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, he said on the one hand material comfort seems to has increased along with the development of science and technology while on the other hand the tendency to forget the useful cultural practices has grown on the other, expressing dismay over the tendency to neglect parents as they became older.   

Scooter rider killed in road accident  

The deceased has been identified as 22-year Prakash Basnet of Mukli municipality-1 of Solukhumbu district, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dhading, Rupak Khadka.

NA member Upadhyay passes away

Upadhyay was NA member from Nepali Congress. He had been playing active role being associated with Nepali Congress since people's movement-2046 BS. Also the executive member of the Lumbini Development Fund, Upadhyay is survived by wife, two daughters and three sons.
