Arrest warrant issued against construction company owner for death of rhino 

An arrest warrant has been issued against the owner of a construction company in connection to the death of a rhino. A rhino was found dead in a roadside ditch last Sunday in Chitwan. The Chitwan National Park has issued the warrant against Sahadev Khadka, the owner of Sagun JV. Raju Ghimire has been assigned as an investigation officer to probe the matter, said the information officer at the Park, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed Gyan Chandra Acharya as the Resident Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom.    

Export of Nepali goods via Birgunj customs increases by 186%

Export of Nepali products towards India and third countries via Birgunj checkpoint has increased significantly in the recent six months of the current fiscal year 2021/22. The export went up by 186 per cent during the period as compared to the first six months of the fiscal year 2020/21.  

NC to form central work execution committee

The central working committee of the Nepali Congress which is meeting in a short while today is expected to constitute the party's central work execution committee. Party general secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the meeting will discuss the formation of the central work execution committee and the local level election among other topics.

Westerly low-pressure system to cause light rainfall and snowfall today 

The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in majority of the places across the country, said the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Due to the influence of the westerly low-pressure system, weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in Province No 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province while light rainfall is likely in a couple of places in hilly areas.  

Investigation initiated against Principal of Doti Technical Institute   

An investigation has been initiated against Principal of Seti Technical Institute Birendra Babu Yadav for seeking money from a poultry supplier that the Institute bought. The issue came to the public notice after an audio clip of the conversation was leaked.  

Earthquake in Lamjung   

An earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Lamjung district at 10:34 on Thursday night. 

Police post setup in Parbat-Baglung border area

A police post has been established in the bordering area of Baglung and Parbat districts. The temporary police post was brought into operation from Thursday at Maldhunga of Kushma Municipality-1 in Parbat.    

Don't post photos, videos in social networking sites without consent: Home Ministry

The Home Ministry said it in a press release, reiterating that anyone involved in such activities would be taken action as per existing law. Such warning was made in response to the complaints filed at the ministry that videos were made secretly on people's banter in public places and posted on social media, thereby harassing the people physically and mentally.
