Number of active cases on decreasing trend   

Number of active infection cases is decreasing in the district of late. As of Wednesday, 952 out of total 1,085 infected have recovered and returned home in Doti district.

No decision on Class 12 examination puts students and parents in confusion

The National Examination Board (NEB) had given suggestion last month along with alternative for conducting the long stalled examination. NEB had suggested to the government that in the condition of holding the examinations not becoming feasible, online exams could be conducted for 40 marks, practical exams given for 20 marks and the total marks obtained by a student in Class 11 exams could be converted to 40 marks for the evaluation.

Monsoon to stay around one week more

"It will take one week for the monsoon which has started to dissipate from the western parts of the country to reach to the eastern parts," he said, adding that the exit of the monsoon starts from the western part and concludes from the east.

CSOs hail law aimed at curbing acid violence, stress on its effective enforcement

A joint statement issued today by Amnesty International Nepal, Burn Violence Survivors Nepal, FWLD, JuRI-Nepal, LACC Nepal and WOREC states that the new legislation has adopted heavier punishment for perpetrators of acid violence and introduced some regulatory measures for sale and distribution of acid and other corrosive materials.

One more coronavirus infected person died in Saptari district today. The deceased is 35-year-old man of Agnisair Krishnasabaran rural municipality in the District.    

     Price of yellow metal goes up 

Price of gold has slightly increased in the domestic market today. The yellow metal has increased by Rs 500 per tola (11.66 grams) today which had increased by Rs 900 per tola on Tuesday.    

     Electric fencing put in place around Nichajhoda Jungle to ward off wild elephants 

The Chandragadhi Community Forest User Group in Jhapa district have decided to put an electric fence around Nichajhoda forest for the first time to prevent the entry of wild elephants into Bhadrapur Municipality-9 in Jhapa district and to protect the locals.
