37 languages on verge of extinction in Nepal being preserved

At a seminar jointly organized by the Commission, Nepal Academy and UNESCO here today on the occasion of International Mother Language Day, it was shared that among the 37 languages, 23 were on the verge of extinction.

Minister Karki insists on ratifying MCC compact from parliament

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, has insisted on the need of endorsing the MCC compact reached between the Nepal government and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) by the people’s representatives in accordance with the constitutional provisions.    

MCC ratification Nepal’s sovereign decision, US says   

The US Embassy in Kathmandu has stated that MCC ratification is a sovereign decision of Nepal. Issuing a press statement on Saturday night, the Embassy said, "This year marks the 75th year of ties between Nepal and the United States.

Electricity export up   

Electricity export has increased and import decreased in the six months of the current fiscal year, 2021/22. In the fiscal year, 2020/21, power worth Rs 316 million was exported to India. The figure increased to Rs 805 million in six months of the current FY.

70 animal firms in Baglung selected for grants   

Seventy firms involving in poultry and animal farming in Baglung district have been selected for grants given by the government under the campaign to promote small scale trade. The Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Centre, Baglung with assistances from the Gandaki provincial government has launched the campaign to promote small scale firms.
