COVID-19: Sudurpaschim at high risk

Road construction outside ring road prioritised

The Road Division Office, Kathmandu has prioritised repair and reconstruction of roads outside the ring road. So far in the current fiscal year, 2020/21, construction of 20 kilometers road has been completed, it said.

Fire destroys six houses in Kalikot

Six houses were reduced to ashes Saturday when the fire broke out at Pachaljharana Rural Municipality-8 in Kalikot. The families of Durga Sarki, Birman Sarki, Bhaire Sarki, Ati Sarki, Dhanraj Sarki and Amrite Sarki have been homeless as the fire destroyed their houses, said rural municipality Chairperson Khadga Raj Sejuwal.

It requires to reshuffle the committee in the aftermath of the split of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and the unification of the Janata Samajbadi Party. The meeting has been uncertain as the related parties are yet to recommend the names of people representing in the committee.

Parbat fire survivors receive relief

Fire victims at Saraukhola in Paiyu Rural Municipality-6 in Parbat district have received relief. Each of the survivors, whose house and animal sheds were burnt down in a fire, received Rs 10,000, food items, clothes and tents. Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Gandaki Province Bikas Lamsal handed the relief materials to the fire victims amid an event on Saturday.
