Firefighting helicopter mobilised to douse Damauli fire   

A huge fire broke out at a main chowk of Damauli of Byas municipality-4 in Tanahu has yet to be taken under control. The fire had started at 10:00 am today from a warehouse of local Bhupal Hardware. Until the filing of this report, firefighters from the Byas municipality and Pokhara are dousing the inferno.    

70 vegetable stalls destroyed in Kathmandu fire 

A fire broke out at a vegetable bazaar at Dhungedhara in Banasthali in Kathmandu in the wee hours today, burning down at least 70 vegetable stalls, said the police.  

Gold price crosses Rs 100,000 per tola   

Gold price has today increased Rs 2,000 per tola to reach Rs 101,900 in the domestic market. Price of the yellow metal was Rs 99,900 per tola in the previous trading day. Similarly, Tejabi gold price has traded at Rs 101,400 per tola, up from Rs 99,400 per tola on Friday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.  

Bhotang wins Panchpokhari T20 cricket title   

Panchpokhari Bhotang team has won the title of Panchpokhari T20 cricket tournament. The team defeated Panchpokhari Cricket Team by 68 runs in the final held at Mulpani Stadium on Saturday.    

Embassy begins homework for talks on Gurkha issues 

The Nepali Embassy in London has started homework to solve the problem of former Gurkha army personnel. The embassy has started discussions with the members of the Ex-Gurkha associations about the preparations for the talks.    

Call to rise above politics   

Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has stressed on the need for the Newar community to rise above politics and show unity.     Inaugurating the second convention of the Newa: Dey Dabu Bhanu Municipal Coordinating Committee held at Baisjangar of Bhanu Municipality-9 on Saturday, he stressed on the need to avoid politics for the benefit of the Newar community.

Country reports less than 100 new cases, zero COVID-related death   

A total of 91 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours across the country. No COVID-related death was confirmed during the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. 

Kalikot getting 33-KVA transmission line 

A 33-KVA transmission line is to be installed in Kalikot. The 11-KVA transmission line installed from Dullu of Dailekh to Jumla via Kalikot is going to be expanded to 33-KVA transmission line.
