Nepal Volleyball Association has announced the National Women Volleyball Team to play in the Asian Senior Women’s Central Zone Volleyball Championship to be held in Bangladesh. 

Valley reports year’s lowest temperature 

The Kathmandu Valley recorded 5.0 degrees Celsius today, the lowest temperature of the year. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, today the Valley’s temperature dropped to 5 degrees Celsius and due to this cold was felt in the morning.

UML CC meeting begins 

The CPN (UML)’s central committee (CC) meeting for the second day kicked off at Bhaktapur-based German Home Hospitality under the chair of KP Sharma Oli.     The first day of the meeting had decided on nine agenda and the today’s session is expected to conclude the remaining six issues.  

Human encroachment pushes aquatic life towards danger 

Environment conservationists have said that encroachment on natural water resources, dumping of waste in rivers and streams, and natural disasters (floods and landslides) primarily since the past five years have caused harm to aquatic animals and destroyed the system of biological diversities.  

President Bhandari arrives in Jumla  

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has arrived in Jumla in connection with inaugurating various medical programmes, including MBBS, at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) today. She arrived in Jumla at 11.20 am by helicopter.

Street festival to be organized in Pokhara from Dec 30  

A street festival is to be organized here from this December 30 to New Year's Day 2022. The festival has the objective of promoting this lake city as the tourism destination in the New Year.     Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) Pokhara is hosting the festival around the slogan- 'Promotion of Safe Tourism for Prosperous Society: Today's Main Need'.  

One killed in elephant attack   

Khagiraj Rana, 45, of Dhakka Camp in Laljhadi Rural Municipality-6 has died after being attacked by an elephant last night. He died after being attacked by an elephant as he tried to flee from a hut demolished by the wild tusker, said Hira Singh Bhandari, chair of the Reserve Struggle Committee.   

NC 14th General Convention: Leaders and cadres busy seeking votes

The Nepali Congress (NC) cadres are currently busy soliciting votes for their leaders to win the election at the 14th General Convention.     Leaders and cadres have been busy since morning to seek votes for their leader in Padmodaya Road and Bhrikuti Mandap. They are asking for votes by displaying banners, statues and audio materials of the leader.
