Farmers urged to use chemical fertilizers wisely

The government has suggested the farmers use the available fertilizers sparingly, saying that there is a shortage of chemical fertilizers in the international market and excessive price hikes. The request has been made considering a likely shortage of chemical fertilizers as many countries that Nepal has been importing fertilizers from have said there is a shortage of raw material and hence difficult to provide as per the demand.    

Communications minister Karki in home-isolation

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has been in home isolation after CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha contracted COVID-19.    

Jeep driver killed in accident

The man has died in a road accident at Talghare of Byas Municipality-1 of Tanahu this morning. The driver of a jeep (Ga 3 Cha 3778) heading towards Dumre from Damauli died after he lost control of the vehicle and met with an accident, according to police.

Additional dose to frontline workers from third week of January

The Ministry of Health and Population is to provide an additional one dose (third dose) of the vaccine against COVID-19 to the frontline workers and all the citizens above 60 years, who have already been vaccinated with the full dose of the vaccine at least three months ago.

Parsa tightens border security, intensifies COVID-19 tests over Omicron risks

The scope of COVID-19 tests at all borders with India in the Parsa district has been intensified following risks of the Omicron variant. Nepal shares open borders with neighbouring India where the variant has been increasing. Demolition of structures inside Narayanhiti museum begins

The demolition of structures built by the disputed Batas Group to run a restaurant inside the Narayanhiti Durbar Museum has started. Most of the structures were dismantled on Friday, said Bhesh Narayan Dahal, Executive Director of the Narayanhiti Durbar Museum Development Committee.
