Chepangs in Chitwan refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19

The population of Chepangs in these municipalities was 28, 989 as per the 2011 Census. Of this population, so far 6,327 people or 21.82 percent of this community have been vaccinated.

Woman rescued by helicopter for labour complications

A 28-year-old woman was rescued under the President Women Upliftment Programme and the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens has cooperated towards that end. She is Chippayangam Bhote of the same locality.

Government assigns drug control officer 

The government has assigned the Drug Control Officer as per the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 2033 BS, said the Narcotic Control Section under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand initiated this.  

Three missing in landslide  

Three people are missing in a landslide near Puru of Tipling, Ward No 1 in Rubibhyali rural municipality of the district last night. A scavator has also been buried by the landslide occurred while constructing a road from Labdung to Lingjo.    

Banke sees heightened risk of coronavirus  

The risk of coronavirus infection has gradually heightened in Banke due to loose regulation in the movement along the Nepal-India open border. Though people entering via Nepalgunj-based Jamunaha checkpoint have gone through coronavirus tests, the movement of the people through open entry points based in other rural areas have been grossly unregulated.

Langtang national park distributes relief amount of Rs 4.8 million 

The Langtang National Park has disclosed the amount it has provided to the wildlife attack survivors. The national park made public the relief amount provided as a compensation to those injured in wildlife attack and having loss and damage of their crops due to animal rampage.  

Prince Dahal makes a history clinching top ranking in World Junior Badminton 

The 19-year-old Dahal ascended to the top position for the first time as per the ranking of men’s junior announced by the Badminton World Federation. He has secured 10,500 points to clinch the top position in junior badminton. This is the biggest success Nepali badminton has ever gained at the international level.

Oxygen generation plant with higher capacity comes into operation in Birendranagar  

A new oxygen generation plant has started production after its successful installation at Katkuwa Municipal Hospital in Birendranagar. Hospital sources said the medical oxygen plant that was set up at the cost of around 150 million underwent a successful test production.    

Entry passes to Singha Durbar restricted

The Ministry of Home Affairs has revoked the temporary and permanent passes and temporary identity cards of all except the sanitation workers entering Singha Durbar. The ministry said in a statement today that the passes issued by all ministries, agencies, secretariats, commissions and various offices have been revoked, citing the risk of COVID-19 infection.
