Kathmandu, Dec. 24: The Disciplinary Committee of All Nepal Football Association on Tuesday has decided to implement the suspension of the national players Anjan Bista, Santosh Tamang, Bimal Gharti Magar and Dinesh Rajbanshi from November 16.
The committee has suspended them for violating the discipline during the national team close camp.
Earlier, the committee announced that the suspension for Bista and Tamang would last for 45 days and to Magar and Rajbanshi for 90 days starting from 13 December 2019.
But after receiving an appeal from those players over the decision, the appeal committee has decided to implement the suspension from the date they were expelled from national camp.
“Following the new decision by the appeal committee, the suspension to all the four players would come into effect from November 16, 2019. While the monetary charges for all the alleged players will remain same,” stated the media release published at the official website of the association the-anfa.com.
Now the suspension of Bista and Tamang will end on December 31 and the suspension of Magar and Rajbanshi will end on Februrary 14.
The release stated that the disciplinary committee launched an investigation into an incident for their inappropriate behavior during the national team camp for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2022 match against Kuwait.
They were charged for their visit to the night club at Thamel before leaving for Bhutan to play against Kuwait in the World Cup Qualifiers. After the action from the disciplinary committee, those four players missed the 13th South Asian Games football matches.
With the new decision, Bista and Tamang will miss four matches of the Martyr’s Memorial A Division League while Magar and Rajbanshi will be able to play only last four matches of the league.
The committee said that the suspension will serve no involvement of the players in any of the activities recognized by the ANFA.
