India beat Nepal by 7 wickets

Kathmandu, Nov. 14: Nepal suffered seven wicket defeats against India’s U23 team in their first match of the ACC Emerging Cup at Savar, Bangladesh on Thursday.
After invited to bat first, Nepal posted 193 runs losing all outs in 44.5 overs. India, in reply, achieved the 194-run-victory target in 42 overs losing three wickets.
Sanvir Singh and Armaan Jaffer both contributed with half century knock in the victory of India Emerging team. Sanvir hit four balls to add 56 runs off 73 balls while Jaffer remained not out with 77-ball 51 with one fours and one six.
India made a good start with opener BR Sharath falling one short from completing half ton off 49 balls. He fired eight balls to the boundaries and one for six. Aryan Juyal hit three fours to garner 43-ball 29.
Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi and Sushan Bhari each claimed one wicket apiece for Nepal.
Earlier, Nepal’s opening jinx continued as Captain Gyanendra Malla returned pavilion for duck in the second ball of the innings. Opener Kushel Bhurtel and Sharad Vesawkar paired for 53-run stand for second wicket to steady Nepal’s inning.
Bhurtel adde 28 runs from 60 balls and Vesawkar added 44 runs from 76 balls. After Bhurtel, Aarif Sheikh lost his wicket scoring only two runs off five balls. Dipendra Singh Airee accompanied Vesawkar for 44 runs for fourth wicket. Airee collected 24-runs off 31 balls with three boundaries.
Vesawkar followed Airee to pavilion after two more runs in the score board.
Pawan Sarraf topped the score for Nepal with 49-ball 56 runs. He hit seven boundaries and two maximums.
Karan KC was another double figure contributor for Nepal with 20 runs. Aarif (2), Binod Bhandari (5), Sompal Kami (2) and Sushan Bhari (not out 2) were the cheap scorer for Nepal.
Saurabh Dubey had four wickets haul for India while Yash Rathod and Parth Rekhade picked two wickets apiece off Nepal.
Hong Kong will be Nepal’s second opponent on Friday and Bangladesh will meet Nepal on Sunday.
