By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 26: General Secretary of CPN (UML) Shankar Pokharel has said that all political parties in Nepal should be one with regard to nationality and independence.

The UML general secretary said so while expressing best wishes and addressing the inaugural session of the eighth General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) here today.

He also noted that all the parties needed to be one in the question of socio-economic issues related to the transformation of society.

"If we political parties are divided over nationality, foreign forces will find ground to play. It is a question whether we are becoming victims of controlled instability in Nepal," he said.

The UML general secretary expressed regret for failing to keep the NCP unity intact. "The formation of the NCP was not wrong. I regret for failing to keep the unity. The unity collapsed as we got entangled with self-interests," said the UML general secretary.
