By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 26: Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav has viewed there is no alternative to republican set up in Nepal.
Chair Yadav said so while expressing best wishes and addressing the inaugural session of the eighth General Convention of CPN (Maoist Center) here today.
"The Federal Democratic Republic and the discrimination-free republic is the only alternative," said Chair Yadav, "If the federal republican set up is sabotaged, we will have to fight for it for many years to come. To stop the present political system from being aborted, I hope this general convention will move forward to an amendment to the constitution, safeguarding of republicans set up and socialism."
He urged the Maoist Center leadership to also focus on issues of livelihood as the issue has been shadowed despite republican setup and federalism.
"I am also optimistic that this general convention will also take a concrete step to addressing the identity of the oppressed class," he said.
