By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 28: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), a major party in the ruling alliance, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' Monday has said that confusion related to national politics and the ruling alliance has ended with the endorsement of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact by the parliament on Sunday.

"An outlet has been given to the political uncertainty. There was a situation whether this government remains in its seat or gets toppled and whether the present ruling alliance goes apart or stands upright. All these uncertainties have ended now and that alliance has been maintained," he said at a press meet today.

The former Prime Minister said that efforts were also made to settle the MCC issue during the then CPN-led government.

"The issue of the MCC got into controversy during the time of CPN-led government. As one of the chairmen of the CPN, I along with other leaders studied it thoroughly and reached a conclusion that to endorse it as it is would be a betrayal against the nation. For this, we also had a three-member task force led by Jhala Nath Khanal with Bhim Rawal and Pradeep Gyawali as members."

The Maoist Center said that one of the Chairmen of the then CPN and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli disagreed with his proposal to endorse the MCC along with a resolution proposal about it.

I had also discussed with the then main opposition Nepali Congress party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is now the seating Prime Minister, on the issue of the MCC and resolving it through a resolution proposal in the parliament.
