By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 6: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has instructed for making the publications of the Gorkhapatra Corporation more reader-friendly and reliable.
"Gorkhapatra Corporation's publications including the Gorkhapatra daily should reach the nook and corner of the country. And, it should be noted that reaching out to the people does not suffice, but how it is made reader-friendly so that all the people want to read it," Minister Karki, who is also the government spokesperson, said during his inspection visit to the Gorkhapatra Corporation on Sunday.
Minister Karki pledged for necessary assistance from the Ministry for the improvement of the Gorkhapatra Corporation.
On a different note, the Minister made it clear that the government was committed to holding the local level election on the date slated for.
Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, pointed out the need for quality improvement in content as well as printing of the publications of the Gorkhapatra Corporation.
He suggested a new plan to collect the dues of the advertisement published in the paper as there was a huge amount of advertisement fee to be collected by the media house.
On the occasion, executive chairman of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Bishnu Prasad Subedi, briefed the Minister about the publications of the Gorkhapatra Corporations and presented that works were underway to publish the corporation's publications with new a design and attractive presentation of the content starting from mid-April.
