By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Feb. 24: Madheshi Unity Society on Wednesday supported Rs. 150,000 to the family of Yogendra Bhedihar who died in the United Arab Emirates on December 20 last year.

Deceased Bhedihar had illegally gone to the UAE for foreign employment on a visit visa and died in the night while he was sleeping after returning from work.

Chairperson of the Nepal unit of the society Dr. Bobby Singh Yadav handed over the amount to Ruby Raut, wife of the deceased, at her home in Raghunathpur of Sabaila Municipality, Dhanusha district.

The society had also extended financial help for bringing his dead body to Nepal. The deceased has a wife and a nine-month-old daughter. His family's economic condition is very poor.

As the deceased had gone to the UAE on a visit visa, he lacked documents like labour permits and insurance. So, even his employer company had refused to support returning the body to his homeland.

Different Madheshi diaspora organizations had initiated a campaign to send back the body.  Due to the lack of legal documents, they faced a huge hassle to send back the body.

The body was finally returned through a flight of Nepal Airlines on February 16 and it was cremated on the next day in his village.

The society's vice-chairman Krishna Thakur had done a lot to the process of returning the body to the country.
