Kathmandu, Feb. 17: Top leaders of three major political parties held discussion at Singha Durbar before the meeting of the ruling alliance.

Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal and leader of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Rajendra Shrestha, were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed the matters including endorsement of the US Millennium Challenge Corporation compact.

Talking to media following the meeting, Maoist Centre’s Chair Dahal said the meeting discussed about finalizing the MCC issue keeping the five-party alliance intact.

A meeting of the ruling alliance has been called for 5:00 pm today at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar. The discussion was held as the preparations for the meeting.

“We are primarily focused on how to keep the alliance intact and deal with the MCC simultaneously”, he shared.

As he said, they expect to find a conclusion from the five-party meeting, adding “We intent to find agreement on other issues by keeping the alliance at first.”

Similarly, Unified Socialist’s Chair Nepal said he preferred to maintain silence on the matters at the moment he felt no hurry to make any comments.
