By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct. 4: The benchmark of share market index, NEPSE, which declined by 55.93 points on Sunday, further declined by 6.68 points to close at 2,570.81 points on Monday.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies also decreased by 1.28 points to close at 484.98 points.
The sub-indices of hotels and tourism, others, microfinance and life insurance increased while the sub-indices of the development bank, hydropower, finance, manufacturing and processing, trading, banking, non-life insurance, mutual fund and investment bank declined today.
Sub-index of development bank group saw the highest fall of 86.4 points, followed by hydropower and finance whose indices decreased by 65.08 points and 52.93 points respectively.
Similarly, the manufacturing and processing sub-index decreased by 32.43 points, trading by 20.79 points, banking by 3.88 points, non-life insurance by 13.17 points, mutual fund by 0.1 points and investment by 0.64 points.
However, the sub-index of microfinance went up by 72 points, others by 21.61 points, hotels and tourism by 12.8 points and life insurance by 5.62 points.
A total of 7,653,220 shares worth Rs. 3.62 billion of 227 companies were bought and sold in 48,236 transactions today.
