Jumla, Sept 6 : Chief Minister of Karnali State Government, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that the province government was working to prepare a digital map for Karnali development.
Chief Minister Shahi said this while addressing a press conference organized by Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Jumla chapter here today.
He also underscored the need of the vigilance from all sectors so that development funds are not misused in the context of this kind of culture rising.
"We will prepare the detailed project reports (DPR) for the development of big projects and start implementing them. The province government has also set up the Project Bank for infrastructure development.
We have allocated the budget in a proportional manner in all the 24 election constituencies in Karnali state," he said.
The Chief Minister also said the land management would be done for developing Karnali as a major area for agro-tourism. He added that the Mid-Western University has developed a curriculum on organic farming for this.
Chief Minister Shahi said the literacy campaign conducted by the State Government to remove the illiteracy in the province would be taken to its goal.
He stated that the government has given priority to the construction of Surkhet-Hilsa road.
He opined that Karnali could not be developed to the expected level as the federal government did not give it powers. (RSS)
