Beni, April 2: The Beni-Jomsom road that links Mustang with the national highway has restarted today allowing vehicles.
Transportation along the road was halted since March 27 to widen the road, said the construction project's information officer Ashwoni Kumar Yadav.
As part of the project, the construction company, Sharma-Gajurmukhi JV started blasting off cliffs for four months, he said. Upgrading of the 76 kilometres Beni-Jomsom road under the national pride Kaligandaki corridor has taken place in four packages.
The up-gradation of Beni-Jomsom-Korala started in 2074 BS with an estimated budget worth approximately Rs 6 billion. Gravelling 110 kilometres Jomsom-Korala road is underway. Sixty per cent of work on the Beni-Jomsom road has been completed, said Yadav.
