Commission for Truth and Reconciliation initiates preliminary investigation of 509 cases

Tulsipur, Oct 27 (RSS):   
Commission for Truth and Reconciliation (TRC), state 5's Tulsipur office has carried out preliminary investigations into 509 cases of human rights violations sent by its central office. The TRC, central office had sent its Tulsipur office altogether 1,799 such cases dating back to the conflict-era filed by the victims and their families.    
At an interaction programme organised here today by the TRC's central office, Joint Attorney of the Office of Attorney General, Tek Bahadur Ghimire, shared that the Commission had received altogether 63,950 cases of human rights violations from the conflict-survivors and their relatives across the country.    
In lack of adequate office-bearers in the Commission, Ghimire, said that works in the Commission hit a snag.    
During the interaction, issues such as expansion or removal of TRC offices and how to enhance Commission's performance among others were discussed. The Commission has been formed to resolve the conflict issues and provide transitional to the conflict-era victims.    
On the occasion, High Attorney Office's joint attorney Ishwari Prasad Banjade made a commitment that he would donate Rs 5,000 on a monthly basis to the conflict-victim students at Thawang in Rolpa and Ama Samuha (Mother’s group).    
He shared that he made the announcement so as to encourage the concerned government officials and people's representatives to follow his suit.
