CIAA arrests police personnel

Kathmandu, Dec 26: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested sub-inspector and assistant head constable of Armed Police Force on the charge of taking bribe from service seekers.
Sub-inspector Tej Bahadur Jora and assistant head constable Birendra Prasad Chaudhary were arrested along with the bribe money by a CIAA team on Friday.
The police personnel were based in the APF Basecamp in Bishnupura, Rupandehi.
The CIAA team from Butwal arrested them on the charge of taking 6,000 rupees in bribe for allegedly facilitating import of household goods. They were arrested from Sagrahawa in Gaidahawa-3, according to CIAA spokesperson Pradip Kumar Koirala.
Likewise, on Wednesday, the CIAA arrested accounts officer of Mahalaxmi Municipality in Lalitpur Kuber KC on the charge of taking 30,000 in bribe from a service recipient.
Further investigation has been initiated against KC.
