A woman who suffered complications after experiencing labour was airlifted to Kathmandu. Chiringputi Gurung,21, a resident of She-Phoksundo rural municipality in Dolpa was airlifted from near the Phoksundo late on Friday.
According to local resident Ang Bahadur Lama, Gurung had been experiencing labour pain since Wednesday but could be airlifted only on Friday evening due to weather problems. She was airlifted on a Nepali Army helicopter to safety under the President Rescue Fund of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, said Chief District Officer Mukesh KC.
Gurung had a surgical delivery at the Prasuti Griha, Thapathali of Kathmandu and both the child and the mother are reported to be in good condition.
