Damauli Bazaar fire comes under control

By Amar Raj Naharki, Damauli, March 6: The fire at Byas Municipality-4 Main Road in Damauli, the district headquarters of Tanahu, has been brought under control after four and a half hours. The fire started from Bhupal Hardware at 10 am on Sunday and was brought under control at 2.30 pm.

Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha had come to Damauli from Kathmandu in a Simric Air helicopter carrying water after the fire got out of control.

Minister Shrestha said that the helicopter was brought in coordination with Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand after receiving information that it was impossible to control the fire without the use of a helicopter.

With the use of helicopters, the fire was brought under control by the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Byas Nagar Police. Chief District Officer Bishwa Prakash Aryal informed that the fire started at 10 in the morning and was brought under control at 2:30 in the afternoon.

According to CDO Aryal, the fire had spread to seven houses and four huts had to be demolished to put out the fire.
