Kathmandu, Sept 27: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has lauded the role of teachers in ensuring quality education in Nepal.  
Addressing an event organized by Guheshwori Secondary School in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9 on Friday to exchange festival greetings and felicitation, leader Nepal said he acknowledged that community's serious concern would only ensure development of the community school through Guheshwori School's progress.
Also former Prime Minister, leader Nepal pledged Rs 3 million to the Guheshwori School from the Parliamentarian Development Fund.
On the occasion, Chairman of the School Management Committee of Guheshwori Secondary School, DP Aryal, was honoured and the School was declared the best community school in the last fiscal year.
Transparency International Nepal President Khemraj Regmi said that he was cognizant about the educational excellence of the school.
Similarly, School Management Committee Chairman Aryal reaffirmed his commitment to make Guheshwori School the model school of the country in future.
On the occasion, teachers Durga Joshi and Karuna Acharya were feted in recognition of their contribution in teaching-learning activities.
The School has 1,250 students and 52 teachers as well as early childhood development center and offers education up to higher secondary level.
