Kathmandu, Feb 6 : Newly-appointed British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt paid a courtesy call on Nepal Communist Party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
At a meeting held at Chairperson Dahal's residence Khumaltar this morning, matters related to centuries old bilateral relations between Nepal and Britain, Nepal's political situation, economic development and peace process were discussed.
On the occasion, former Prime Minister Dahal appreciated the cooperation being extended by Britain and British people for Nepal's development and noted that Nepal and Britain have shared centuries old cordial relations.
"I have a belief that Nepal and Britain would see a more cordial relation during your tenure.", Prachanda told the British Ambassador, adding, "Nepal is pursuing the campaign of economic prosperity and the British support to that end is inevitable".
During the meet, the Ambassador assured to continue British government support to Nepal's development efforts in coming days as well. ---
