Kathmandu, Dec 18:
The Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former lawmaker and party leader Rameshwar Dhungel. He was a member of the then Constituent Assembly.
Dhungel breathed his last on Tuesday while receiving treatment in the intensive care ward of the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. He was 60.
NC Parliamentary Party chief whip Bal Krishna Khand stated in a press note he issued today that the party has suffered an irreparable loss due to the passing of a competent leader.
Recalling leader Dhungel's contribution to Nepal's democracy movements, NCPP chief whip Khand expressed condolences to the members of the bereaved family on his demise.
"Late Dhungel had played important role always remaining at the forefront of every movement for establishing democracy in Nepal. Also, he had been detained from time to time while remaining active in the movements," reads the press note. Leader Dhungel was known as a gentlemanly leader in Nepali politics.
